Tech Shouldn't Be Tedious: Why I Started Krause Advising

From the Law Firm Trenches
I spent over a decade working in the IT departments of busy law firms, and if that environment teaches you anything, it’s that technology is only useful if it actually works when the pressure is on. In the legal world, a broken integration or a missing document template isn’t just a minor annoyance; it’s a missed deadline. That experience shaped my entire approach to consulting. I learned how to step into high-stakes environments, look at messy, manual processes, and figure out how to rebuild them so they actually serve the people using them, rather than the other way around.
I eventually co-founded Krause Advising because I realized that most business owners are great at their craft but feel completely bogged down by the “tech” side of things. I’ve always enjoyed working with people who wouldn’t describe themselves as “tech-savvy.” My job is to act as a translator—taking your business goals and turning them into software workflows that make sense. I don’t believe in over-complicating things; I believe in breaking a process down step-by-step until we find the most efficient path forward.
A huge part of what we do revolves around the systems that hold your business together, like Salesforce or CaseAware. Whether it’s moving your data from an old legacy system without losing anything in the process or coding document templates that pull in client info automatically, we focus on the “invisible” work that saves you hours of manual entry. If I can take a task that used to take you twenty minutes and turn it into a five-second automated trigger, that’s a win for your bottom line and your sanity.
Beyond the backend automation, we also handle the foundational IT needs that keep a business professional and functional. This ranges from building clean, responsive websites and e-commerce stores to providing day-to-day helpdesk support. I’ve found that many clients just want the peace of mind that comes with knowing their systems are being monitored proactively. If you aren’t thinking about your IT infrastructure, it’s because we’re doing our job right.
The most important part of any project, however, is the handoff. You can have the most expensive CRM in the world, but if your team finds it intimidating, they won’t use it. That’s why we put a heavy emphasis on user training and customized manuals. We don’t just build a solution and disappear; we make sure your staff feels confident using the tools we’ve put in place. At the end of the day, my goal is to simplify your work life so you can spend less time fighting with software and more time growing your business.
Do you have a process that feels more difficult than it should be? I’m always happy to jump on a call and brainstorm a better way to handle it. Let’s connect and see how we can get those tedious tasks off your plate.
